I think that Zoosk has stayed true to its roots by keeping the interface in a format that boasts social interaction like a social networking site rather than the typical dating site formats that are readily seen. I found that the site was more-so focused on the fun loving aspects of meeting new people and would make a great site for those who are looking for casual dating, and friendships rather than that one true love.
However, I do think that this is one of the simplest dating sites out there as everything is incredibly easy to use. Although one thing that makes it different then most sites is there is no matchmaking system that returns potentially compatible matches based on your profile, but rather the site is based on your searching for other members and contacting those that interest you; you have to put the effort and work into it. With this said, it should be noted that one of the downsides is that, as a free member, you cannot send the first message to another member, but you can reply to any paid members that contact you. This is where Zoosk will want you to pay, which to me, is upsetting because after you put in all that work and effort you can’t even act on whomever you find interesting.
Despite it being one of the easiest to use free dating sites out there (and one of the biggest), it is not a good option if you are looking for a serious relationship. However, if you are just looking to find members in your area, or are looking for a casual interaction, then it might be good for you. I found that the membership price for being able to full interact with whomever you want, and be able to see how people have viewed your profile is a bit steep considering there aren’t any advanced functions built within the site. You’d be better off spending your hard earned money elsewhere.
The only advantage of the site is that it connects with Facebook, Twitter, and has an iPhone application. But to me, I wouldn’t want to be integrating my dating with my social world, so it isn’t a plus.
