Zoosk

My experience with Zoosk is not a good one. At first I thought that it was really awesome that I was able to use the website through Facebook as an application. But then soon realized that Zoosk was taking my information and spreading it across my Facebook, notifying people who I don't normally talk to about my activity on Zoosk.

This was a big no, no for me.

Furthermore, as a free member it is basically impossible to do anything on the website. Sure you can make a profile and initiate contact with other members, but after the initial contact, you have to upgrade in order to do pretty much anything else. I don't mind having to upgrade if I am going to get a plethora of features that are going to help me in becoming successful, but unfortunately Zoosk is all about the social aspect of the dating scene.

They have a feature called coins, and they are used like currency in order to buy things on the website. The annoying thing with these is it is automatically set as a feature that they will top up (so you don't forget), thus if you don't remember to turn this off you get nailed with fees.

Now this is not to even mention the fact that when you go to read your messages as a free member, not only do they ask you to upgrade... but they also have an activation fee! There is no way I am going to pay a $25 activation fee plus an upgrade fee... just so I can talk to other people... and then later on get hit with more fees when I forget to turn off all the automatic switches....

Your membership gets automatically renewed, and if you decide to cancel it... you don't get to keep the features until the end month is up... you forfeit them right away... so you have to remember to cancel as close to the close date as possible...

Zoosk is ridiculous. I would rather go with a more reputable site.
