I have joined various websites and by far the worst customer service hands down goes to Veggie Connection. In my naivety I decided to have a life-long membership and that was a first big mistake. When I looked recently at how much they charge compared to other sites I realized that this site in my opinion is a big con with absolutely no effective customer service at all. The features are lame; the matching is lame and worst of all they seem to run on only one very lame customer support person by the name of *names removed by moderator* who seems to be clueless on how to respond to customer complaints.
He seems to make decisions depending on which way the wind is blowing as he is inadequate, inconsistent and unsure of what to actually say or do. I had a very bad experience when contacting one member with a simple "care to chat?" message. That member's response was literally "You are deceptive. You are lying and you are a vegetarian and not a vegan and I am going to complain about you to customer services…" My crime? I had selected my category as "Vegan" and admitted in my profile that I was only 90% vegan. That is the quality of narrow-mindedness I got from one member.
The person from customer services is truly an incompetent moron. He contacted me to tell me that there had been a complaint and when I told him the reason his response was "I would rather not get in the middle of pots and pans flying about." I then made a complaint about the member's abusive email to me and he did absolutely nothing that I am aware of with the information I gave him. When I pushed him about his policy to abusive behavior he never directly gave me a reply.
I was so unsatisfied by this limp moron's response I asked him to close my membership and give me a refund. When I asked to whom I could complain about his appalling lack of customer service the most he would give me was the name Pam and a PO Box number… Then, he arbitrarily closed my account and refund? Er…pigs will fly before they put customers above money
How unprofessional is that?
Do yourself a favor and avoid veggie connection like the plague and if you should ever need customer service there is only one very lame person there who says he's been doing it for 10 years and still does not have a proper procedure on how to handle complaints….
