OneDate is a simple no-frills dating website where you can post a profile for free. To access messaging and certain other things you need to buy an upgrade otherwise known as a pass.
Registration on Onedate is a standard affair. Simply answer a few basic questions about yourself and enter a valid email. Once you've verified your email you can gain access to the members area.
Creating your profile
The layout is a little unorthodox and takes some trial and error to get to the things you need. Under the personal tab you can enter more specific information about yourself, your hobbies, likes and deal breakers and so forth. You'll be prompted to upload a photo however there is no requirement to do so.
Onedate personality tests
To check out your love interests the site lets you create your own test. You chose from a set of pre written questions. Your matches will get a chance to complete your tests and their answers might give you a little insight into their personalities.
While the questions are pre written, you can keep clicking try others and it will show a different set of questions. One problem is you can't pick and choose individual questions but have to accept the whole lot.
Meeting people
The main search can be found on the home page. Just pick the necessary settings and click the button. Unfortunately many of the profiles don't display photos. With the simple search there doesn't seem to be a way to hide those from the results page. That means you get lots of empty profiles showing up.
The proximity filter lets you choose people by distance. You just set the maximum you are willing to travel and it will show you people within that search radius. The advanced search includes far more options but that is only accessible to paying members. Free users have to make use of the simple search.
As well many of the profile details are hidden from view until you upgrade. Once you become a paying member you'll be able to see more detailed information on their profile such as their partner preferences.
