After filling the simple registration form you can can state whether your are seeking friendship, romance or just a "riding buddy".

The site has an untypically high proportion of female members, though there are quite a few many men there too.

It's free to join and create a photo profile, but as a free member you do have restricted access. This means you can search, create favorite lists and so on, but can't send emails.

Accounts must be approved before they go live on the site - you'll have a wait of at least a few hours.

Finding People

As well as a basic search, the advanced search lets you hone in your requirements with fine detail such as height, hair and eye color, as well as things such as occupation and income. There's also a zip code search to help locate people nearby, or in a certain area (note that this feature only works for U.S. Zip codes). Luckily these additional searches are accessible to free users.

As well as the main personals section, Equestrian Singles also provides other resources such as a photo album (great for horse lovers), some lively forums and chat rooms, and a classified ads section.

Naturally there's a good sprinkling of horsey tips as you navigate around as well.

This is a specialist personals community for people with a passion for horses. It offers some good resources and has a nice homemade feel about it that some users may love.

The downside is the very small community of just a few thousand users, and this can make it challenging to find people nearby. Those who are after a broader choice would probably be better off somewhere like EquestrianCupid or even Match.com.
