I clicked a link and joined via Facebook, took a look at it and discovered that the site was complete and utter crap. Tried to remove my profile (lucky for me I didn't subscribe) but in order to change/update certain parts of your profile, you need to enter your password. The funny bit is if you access Cupid (aka Stupid) via Facebook, the UI is so messed up with the double scroll bars that navigation is a complete pain.
I went on their website, which was a bit strange that I didn't have to log on or enter my password, but it didn't recognize it. I clicked on the 'send my password' link and as of 46 minutes ago, I still have yet to receive my password via email. Now, every other site I've used has this feature and they manage to resend my password in under two minutes.
Sadly, I've resorted to posting a couple naughty things to their admins and changed my username to something equally naughty in order to get banned/removed, as I can't do it myself. Funny bit was in the body of my profile, I basically wrote how badly this site is constructed, the 'bots (aka chat requests from supposed female members on the other side of the country 15 years my junior) and the fact that I'm not a member and generally being a nuisance so I get get removed my the admins.
Online dating is a complete joke; the proliferation of scammers from West Africa has pretty much killed chances for average guys like me to meet anyone online. Also their fees are ridiculously high...and I though eHarmony was expensive.
Avoid at all costs, or proceed at your own peril.
