Coffee Meets Bagel is an app for busy singles. CMB is less about swiping and more about finding you personalized matches. They send you a list of matches "bagels" each day and if you like them you can go for a chat in a private virtual room.
Their matchmaking app takes some of the hard work out of the "swipe and click" routine. Swiping and messaging can take up a lot of time and doesn't always come up with the quality matches you'd hoped for.
CMB does some of the matching behind the scenes. When you download the app you connect via your Facebook account. They won't show anything on your facebook profile but they do use your connections to work out the kind of people you might get along with.
This, combined with some preference settings will help the app to find people that match your likes and dislikes.
How CMB Works
Every day you'll receive a few matches from their "match factory" - they call the matches Bagels. From then on the way CMB works will be slightly different depending on whether you are male, female straight or gay.
Each day, the men get sent a couple of new female profiles they've never seen before. They are then free to show interest or not. Women are not randomly sent profiles of men. They are only sent profiles of men who've expressed an interest in them. This way, the ladies don't waste time scanning profiles of men who may not be serious about them.
For LGBTQ members, it's a little different again. Both male and females receive matches in the same way and can express interest in each other.
Once you find mutual interest with another member, you can then arrange to chat together in private through the app's messenger.
Premium Features - Beans
You can use the app for free or pay for some extras. The extras are called beans and are basically credits that will enhance your privileges. Extras give you more insight into your matches such as whether they've looked at one of your messages, how likely they are to respond or not.
