If your perception is that so called "Alternative" folks (that is those from the rock, metal, punk and Goth scenes) are somehow more open minded, intelligent folks then boy oh boy this site will go a long way in popping that delusion bubble. I'm not sure Iv'e ever come across a site made up of a more shallow, close minded, childish bunch in my entire life. If you don't fit some cookie-cutter "alternative" look then you're basically going to ostracised, so tattoos, mascara, piercings, hairdye, long hair on guys is the order of the day, y'know the stuff that most of us grew out of at 18 when we had to get real jobs. The ironic thing is most have a very basic understanding of the actual music and cultural depth behind the musical genres they latch themselves onto, it's almost always purely about most shallow aspects.

Having said all that in the two years of using the site on and off I did meet the odd nice person and there is one who I continue to talk to this day (shame we live so far apart)- so it's not a complete horror show (just mostly). But honestly as far as dating goes, you're far better off going onto one of the more mainstream sites even if that entails paying a bit of cash. And if your interest is in alternative music I recommend sites more tailored in that direction, heck Facebook is probably a better way of finding more like minded individuals in that regard.
